My group's final year project.
The title is pronounced as "Oh-nay-row-free-near" without the R at the back.

My groupmates are Cheeryl ~Jobichi-san , Weijie ~draftics and Zulhilmi. Unfortunately, the zul don't have a DA account, yet! =P

Music :
Icarus - Jason Webley
(WE DO NOT OWN THE MUSIC)

Recommended to watch in full screen. =D
Hope you enjoy.

@01:50well done! the concept is executed well and the music sits nicely with the flow of the story.

however would have been better if the level of detail was consistent between the texture and models, and maybe less tweening in the animations. i felt it should have spent more time in post production (after effects etc.), but that point might be moot as it may not be as important in the grading criteria for your diploma.

congratulations to you and your team! and on DD and oh, i know cheryl. cheers!

By consistency, meaning throughout the whole animation or specific shots? And as for the animations is there an example that you can point out? Sorry to bother you about it, but I just want it to be clear, 'cause we want to fine tune our animation. Grades are kinda not that important now, portfolio is.

OO! You know cheeryl?! You're from digipen?! Kewl! First year... Do you know either Kaiting or Andrew?

Thanks for the congrats, really glad that you enjoyed it, and thank you for pointing out our mistakes! =D we will look into them.

yeah, i helped give her some tips on rigging, but i have no experience with maya, so it might have been for moot.

i am bad with faces, so i might know them, but uh... might not. there is an andrew in my class, but hes from nyp.

consistency would be throughout the animation. lets say we take screenshots of random scenes from the animation. it should all look like it belongs to a set.

as for animation, the rat sometimes 'skates' as he moves and feels like he has no weight. however these are small issues though it would improve the overall feel if it were done right.

if you want to fine tune the animation you should work on the easy to tweak portions like these stuff. an example will be to render a zdepth layer and use that layer as an inverted multiply/screen in AE for a foggy effect. but that is only good for scenes with plenty of depth cues. i used that effect alot in my animation.
if you can't afford to render again then you can do simple hue/correction and glow effects in AE as an adjustment layer.

Thank you for the tips, I'll definately look into these problems. We will most probably have time for rerendering, a few months before uni intake and enlistment should be enough time. =D

Thanks again! =D

Officially, it took us 17 weeks from preproduction to final compositing, but because Cheeryl and I had the idea much earlier on, we had been working on the concept for about close to half a year before the official starting date.

Amazing! I can't help feel terribly sorry for the rat- I'm a rat fanatic and have had at least two as pets for years. The music is wonderful, and the flashing transitions from one seen to another really make an impression of that hallucination. The little model is adorable- I can't imagine how long you must have spent working on this! What program did you use? Keep up the amazing work and huge congrats on the DD! You deserve it. ^_^

We used AutoDesk Maya for the entire 3d side of the project. It took me about 3 days to model the rat, a week to texture and about another 2 week for cheeryl to rigg and paintweights. Though there were a few problems with the rigg that we found out when animating that we solved on the go.
